OLPC X03 and fujitsu Arrow Tab

 

OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) is a project supported by the Miami-based(OLPCA) and the Cambridge-based OLPC Foundation (OLPCF), two U.S. non-profit set up to oversee the creation of affordable educational devices for use in the developing-world. The project was originally funded by AMD, Chimei,  Ebay,  Google, Marvell, News Corporation, Nortel, Quanta and Red Hat

OLPC introduced their new tablet with unique capabilities ,design and durability, the XO3.The 8-inch tablet will be equipped with 1GHz processor,512MB of ram and comes with a 1024×768-resolution LCD, or a lower cost Pixel Qi sunlight-readable display.The XO3 will be waterproof,as well as dust proof and shock resistant.The device could be configured with a linux or android OS,but the interesting part is that it is capable of charging its batteries by using alternative energy like: solar power and hand cranking,among others.

Fujitsu Arrow Tab

Fjitsu is a multinational information technology equipment and services company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. It is the world’s third-largest IT services provider measured by revenues.
Fujitsu’s chiefly makes computing products, but the company and its subsidiaries also offer a diversity of products and services in the areas of personal computing, telecommunications and advanced microelectronics. It has approximately 172,000 employees and its products and services are available in over 70 countries.

Fujitsu announce their new waterproof ,10.1 inch display tablet concept called Arrow Tab.It will run Android Ice Cream Sandwhich and will bring a new feature,were it uses the front-facing camera to recognize various hand movements and be able to select icons or do other things by just doing a hand gesture. Arrow will be equipped with 1GHz dual-core processor and 5MP camera at the back and 2MP camera at the front.If you would like to use your tablet around a water environment ,then the fujitsu Arrow Tab would be ideal tablet for you.

Blackberry OS 2.0 and Windows 8

A few weeks back,Reasearch in motion(RIM) released a major awaited updated on the Blackberry playbook.In the new update, you will be able to see e-mail, view calendars and contacts without having the need to pair up with your Blackberry phone.It also has android VM,which means you can download android apps from the store into your tablet.The new update will also include more features to users when paired with blackberry smartphones ,like use your smartphone's keyboard to input text on your playbook or to use it as a remote. The update also went through aesthetic changes,making your Apps look more  and detailed.  Blackberry 2.0 is available to download under the ''about''tab on your playbook.




Windows 8

Microsoft,Qualcomm,Nvidia,Silicom partners,as well as Texas Instruments worked hard,combined forces and announced that they are planning to launch their brand new windows 8 operating system around october.The new OS features a new app store and a whole new,easier to use and user friendly design compared to previous generations.The new OS will feature a  tile-based Start screen similar to the Windows Phone operating system. Each tile will represent an application, and will be able to display relevant information such as the number of unread messages on the tile for an e-mail app or the current temperature on a weather application.IT will also come with Internet explorer 10,as well as a new task manager design.Windows 8 will be available for both tablets and computers.

Pantech Releases The First Ceramic Smartphone

Pantech Curitel is a South Korean company specializing in manufacturing mobile phones and revealed its brand new Vega Racer 2 concept smartphone.The Vega Racer 2 not only has a full ceramic body, but it also has a massive 4.8-inch 720p HD LCD display and a Qualcomm MSM8960 S4 dual-core processor,with 1.3 or 1.5GHz most likely.The new smartphone will have LTE,the latest and fastest network technology,that will increase your browser's capacity.No further specification were revealved of the new smartphone concept during the release event.

So why build a smartphone with a ceramic body? according to Pantech, it is more resistant and durable than the convectional plastic used on other smartphones.Pantech did not specify if they were going to release this concept anytime soon,but it will not  be most likely released in the U.S because their market is based on Asian ground.

Duracell Wireless Charging Mat ,WVIL and Eton FRX

Duracell and powermat joined forces and announced their new technology concept called the Powermat wireless charging.This new concept has the hability to charge your phone wirelessly by just setting your phone on the mat.To make this possible,The new technology will come with a special receiver-case for your smartphone, that communicates with the mat and sends the right amount of power to charge your device. They also announced that they would have the powermat already pre-installed on some cars and functional on public places in the future,like restaurants or hotels. Duracell's and powermat's ultimate goal is to be able to build the technology inside the devices to eliminate the need to use a special case.

WVIL

Artefact Group announced their new promising camera concept called "WVIL",short for wireless viewfinder interchangeable lens.
WVIL's system takes the connectivity and application platform capabilities of today's smart phones and wirelessly connects them with interchangeable full SLR-quality optics.The most interesting aspect about this concept device is that the camera components are inside its lens, making it possible to shoot pictures even if the lens is separated from the camera body.

WVIL's UI will bring multi-touch input and app platform as any smartphone.The device will be built in aluminium |magnesium alloy and will have a 5.0 inch Amoled display.The lens mount is going to be compatible with a wide range of  interchangeable lenses.

Eton FRX

Eton Corporation is a company that produces solar powered and hand-cranked shortwave and emergency radios and announced their new concepts called FRX 2 and 3.
The Eton FRX 2 and 3 are devices that helps you charge any device on emergency situations.The FRX 3 has four ways of charging that include:hand cranking,traditional batteries,DC port and solar panels.The FRX also features LED lights as well as a flashing beacon light and F.M.|weather band radio.The FRX 2 is similar in features but it does not take external batteries and is considerably smaller in size.The FRX 3 will be released with the price starting  around 60.00 dollars and the FRX 2 for 40.00 dollars

A car Helicopter? and Big Dog

Pal V Europe is a Dutch company who are developing a personal air-land vehicle and announced and tested their new car-helicopter,the PAL V One.The new concept has a propeller at the rear of the fuselage providing forward thrust and a free-spinning rotor providing lift,making it possible to transform into a small helicopter.On the ground, the propeller and rotor are stopped and power is diverted to the wheels, allowing it to travel as a three-wheeled car. it can reach a top speed of 112 MPH on both ground and air,with a maximum altitude of 4,000 FT. This unique vehicle will definitely mark a new era of personal flying cars.

Boston dynamics is an engineering  and robotics design company best known for the development of Big Dog, a quadruped robot designed for the U.S. military with funding from DARPA(Defense Advance Research Projects Agency.)Big dog will be capable of carrying up to 350 pounds of military equipment through tough terrain, like snow or gravel up to speeds of 6 Km Per Hour and can Climb up to 35 Degrees inclines.Big dog is powered by a 15HP go-kart engine and a rugged computer onboard.  Approximately 50 sensors are located on BigDog. These measure the attitude and acceleration of the body, motion and force of joint actuators as well as engine speed, temperature and hydraulic pressure inside the robot's internal engine. The robot has good potential,because it can really reduce a soldier's cargo load.

Facebook Buys Instagram for 1 Billion Dollars

Mark Zuckerberg announced that facebook has acquired the popular app instagram for the impressive amount of 1 Billion Dollars.Instagram is a free photo-sharing application that allows users to take a photo, apply a digital filter, then share it on a variety of social networking services including Instagram's own.Instagram is one of the most popular apps right now, even from day 1,it had created a lot of impact and commotion. The App is available for apple ,as well as Android devices and distributed by Apple App Store and Google Play.

Instagram was developed by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger and was launched on the App Store on October 2010.By December 2010 it had reached 1 million registered users.On June 2011 instagram announced that it had reached 5 million users and on December of the same year it had passed 10 million users.On April 2012,They announced they had tripled their registered user number ,reaching more than 30 million.When the App reached Android devices, it had already 1 million registered users within 12 hours.Instagram has made about 60 million dollars in revenues and has also won several awards including:

Nokia Lumia 900-Was It Worth The Wait?

Nokia's long awaited Lumia 900 smartphone, first announced during the Consumer Electronics Show in January, has finally been released.It has a polycarbonate unibody with an exceptional build quality and has a dimension of 5.03 x 2.7 inches,o.45 inches thick and weights 5.6 Oz. The display is 4.3 inches with a resolution of 480 by 800. It has a 1.4GHz single core Qualcomm processor with 512MB of ram and 16 gb of internal storage. It also features an 8Mp dual LED camera with an ability to shoot at 720p  and a front-facing camera with 1MP.It runs Mango 7.5 ,an updated version of the windows OS.

So..was it worth the wait? definitely it was! Even though the Nokia Lumia doesn't have the performance power of a high-end phone like the Iphone 4s or the Samsung Galaxy s2,it offers an outstanding build quality,durability and smooth performance at a reasonable low price. 

New Sony Xperia Arc S and The Iradar Detector

Sony is starting fresh after a 10 year collaboration with Ericsson, releasing their new product under the "Sony"brand,the Xperia S.The new smartphone will have new elements that have never been on other sony ericsson devices.The Xperia S comes with a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, a 4.3| 720p HD display and a 12MP Camera with assisted LED flash at the back.On the front,it has a 1.3 MP camera capable of shooting up to 720p.It will also come with 1GB of RAM and a mini HDMI port connectivity,as well as having an internal storage of 2GB.The new Xperia would be running on the new android OS : Ice Cream Sandwich.

The Iradar detector 100 is a community based detection device for the iphone and ipad.The device can be mounted on your car's windshield and has the hability to detect all the radar guns out there from the police.The Iradar also has an iphone and ipad application were it displays on a map live laser and radar alerts as well as traffic cameras from other users.One can also report live police ,caution and photo enforcement areas to help your friends from getting in trouble with the police.The Iradar will also feature a  battery monitor for your car.

HTC One X,The King Of Android Smartphones?

HTC released their latest flagship model called the One X,Their fastest production smartphone ever and HTC claims it to be the king of all Android phones.The One X comes with NVIDIA's latest and greatest quad-core Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, an insanely sharp 720p HD display with resolution of 1280x720, 32GB of storage, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 4.0. HTC Sense are custom made widgets and menus,only available for HTC users, that makes Android Ice Cream Sandwhich easier to use and better.Even though HTC Sense takes away processing power from the phone,it still offers blistering fast performance.

The new smartphone has 5.2 x 2.7 inches of dimension,a very slim body of just 0.3 inches thick and weighing just 4.5Oz.The HTC One X will also feature sensitive touch capacitive buttons and an 8MP camera with Autofocus,Smart LED flash and 1080p video capabilities,as well as a 1.3 MP front-facing camera.Most of  the One X's contenders have very similar specifications like the Iphone or the Samsung Galaxy S2, but the HTC will be able to process more information at once than its rivals.

Samsung Releases a New Rugged Phone and The Galaxy S Blaze

Samsung releases the Rugby Smart,a new rugged smartphone made to withstand tough falls and rough use. It is water, dust, shock, and temperature proof, IP 67.00 certified, and MIL-STD-810 certified. Basically, it should be able to withstand pretty much anything you put it through.It is specially designed for those with an active lifestyle.

Besides being a rugged phone, the Rugby Smart is actually a well-equipped smartphone with a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED display, a 1.4 GHz Snapdragon processor with 512MB of RAM, and HSPA+connectivity. It comes with a 5MP camera with autofocus and flash,as well as 1080p recording capabilities.It also features front-facing camera and 4gb of internal storage.It runs android 2.3 with Touchwiz 4.0,the latest update of Touchwiz bringing a more refined experience.It may not be a super phone, but it will definitely offer smooth performance ,durability and reliability.

Galaxy S Blaze

Samsung also released another  mid-range smartphone called the Galaxy S Blaze.The new Smartphone is a more affordable version of the Samsung Galaxy S 2, with similar specifications and features.it packs a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon CPU, 3.97-inch Super AMOLED display, 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, front-facing camera, a 1,750 mAh battery, and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with TouchWiz 4.0.

the difference between the Galaxy s blaze and S2 is that the S2 has a superAMOLED PLus display as well as an 8MP camera with 1080p video capabilities and a 4.3 inch display.
